As part of Toshiba’s reorganization of U.S. management, Brian Merriman has been named Senior Vice President of Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS), where he will be responsible for TAIS’ newly-formed Electronic Imaging Group (EIG).
Merriman has been Vice President and General Manager of Toshiba’s Electronic Imaging Division (EID) since 1994, and the Chief Executive Officer of TOPAC U.S.A., Inc. for the past two years. In his new position, he will oversee day-to-day operations of the new Electronic Imaging Group (EIG) which encompasses the Copier and Fax Division, Toner Products Division and Document Solutions Engineering Division.
Merriman’s tenure at Toshiba has been tremendously successful. He has been chosen “Executive of the Year” by his peers in the copier and fax industry for the past three years, and EID has been honored as the Business Technology Association’s “Manufacturer of the Year” for three consecutive years, 1995-1997.
Under his guidance, EID has become the most consistently profitable of all TAIS divisions, as well as the fastest-growing copier and fax manufacturer in the U.S.
Prior to joining Toshiba in 1994, Merriman was President of Savin Corporation, guiding the company out of bankruptcy and into profitability, and prior to that served in a similar top management position at Konica Business Machines.
