Toshiba’s Projection TV Line For ’98
Highlights Two Ultra-Slim 43-Inch Models
Delivering the promise of large-screen excitement to TV viewers with
limited living space, Toshiba’s advanced projection TV line for ’98
includes two ultra-slim 43-inch compact sets, both with cabinets less than
18 inches deep. Perfectly sized for smaller living spaces, the TP43H60 and
Cinema Series TP43H95 offer the impact of large-screen projection TV with
the crispness and clarity of a direct-view SuperTUBE.
With a Toshiba 43-inch projection TV, city apartment dwellers,
condominium residents, and anyone with limited space can now enjoy the
benefits of true large-screen excitement from a set that occupies less
space than a smaller screen direct-view TV. Toshiba’s ultra-slim
43-inch sets are seven inches thinner and 30 pounds lighter than the
company’s 36-inch SuperTUBE direct-view sets, and feature super-slim
cabinets that are ideal for either floor (using an optional stand) or
tabletop placement.
Advanced Toshiba Technology For Super-Sharp Images
Toshiba’s 43-inch projection TVs utilize the company’s most
advanced digital technologies to deliver a crystal clear picture (800
lines of horizontal resolution), with unsurpassed brightness and color
realism. The sets’ high-contrast, dark tint screen ensures the
sharpest images in all types of room lighting environments.
In addition, both 43-inch sets feature ColorStream component video
inputs. When connected to a Toshiba ColorStream Component Video DVD
player, component video delivers increased color resolution, purity and
fidelity, with more detail and realism than is possible with conventional
S-Video or composite video connections. A two line Digital Comb Filter
further improves picture performance, and a built-in protection screen
ensures the ultimate in durability and reliability.
For maximum picture quality, both 43-inch sets, like all Toshiba
projection TVs, include new color filters, which provide better
colorometry for natural colors, more accurate flesh tones, improved
contrast and a wider palette of colors and hues within the visible
spectrum.
Both 43-inch sets feature Toshiba’s new Sleek Universal Remote
Control, an ergonomically designed 32-key remote that fits easily into the
hand and offers simple, straightforward access to all functions. Menu
selections are driven by a simple four-way compass cursor and accompanying
keys for easy navigation of all set functions.
To further enhance the home theater experience, both sets feature
powerful audio systems with built-in Sub Bass Systems (SBS) and 28-watt
amplifiers for a realistic home theater experience. And to provide users
with maximum flexibility in building a total home entertainment system,
both 43-inch TVs feature Toshiba’s extensive, future-ready Super Jack
Pack, consisting of two S-Video inputs, three A/V inputs, one A/V output,
plus variable audio outputs, center channel input and dedicated
ColorStream component video input. offering easy connectivity to a wide
variety of components, including A/V receiver, VCR, DVD player and
satellite receiver.
Toshiba’s Projection TV Line Leads In “DTV-Readiness”
Toshiba’s 43-inch projection TVs join the company’s full line
of advanced TheaterView and TheaterWide widescreen projection TVs,
including three new DTV-ready sets that feature DTV Interface Terminals
and ColorStream PRO progressive scan inputs. With the addition of a
compatible set-top receiver box, the DTV Interface Terminals permit the
sets to display the maximum picture resolution of DTV programming. Equally
exciting, the ColorStream PRO inputs let viewers enjoy the benefits of
progressively scanned high-resolution DVD images when used in conjunction
with Toshiba’s new Platinum Standard SD7108 DVD-Video player. A
compatible DTV set-top box can also be connected to a TV set equipped with
ColorStream component video inputs, allowing maximum NTSC reproduction of
DTV programming. This connection offers consumers the assurance that the
TV set they purchase today will not become obsolete in the future.
Other models in the Toshiba projection TV line include high-performance
61-, 55- and 50-inch TheaterView sets, as well as a widescreen 40-inch
TheaterWide model.
