For the third consecutive year, Toshiba America, Inc.(TAI) co-sponsored Earth Day New York 2012 in and around Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The program which was held April 19-21 featured a host of activities that were designed to raise awareness of important environmental issues, address the environmental benefits of Toshiba's technologies, and reflect the company's global commitment to sustainability and the environment.
The TAI Environmental Affairs Department worked closely with TAI's Communications Department on the Earth Day activities at Grand Central Terminal. This year, TAI featured a fresh, new theme that provided an interactive approach for visitors who stopped by Toshiba's booth. Guided by the virtual "Smart Ninja," visitors experienced an inspiring multimedia tour of future technologies that could someday help create a sustainable "Smart" society.
In addition, Toshiba featured its eco TVs, PCs, LED lighting, and the Toshiba/Carrier ductless air conditioner. Other events included STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education panels that featured important discussions with influential educators and policy makers to examine the current state of STEM education and how it relates to our society's sustainable future. In addition, local students provided presentations on their award-winning environmental-related projects. |
