Toshiba's constant current LED drivers are designed to drive full-color LED modules and LED panels. The output current value can be set using an external resistor. Convenient features to control large LED arrays are managed for example via the device's three-wire serial interface, which enable direct communication with a host controller. Possible features include output open-circuit detection (OOD) and output short-circuit detection (OSD), which communicate status to the controller via a serial interface. The serial interface also supports cascading of multiple drivers to control larger LED arrays.
Toshiba's constant current LED drivers feature 3-bit, 8-bit, 16-bit and 24-bit versions, and are available as surface mounted (e.g. HQFP, SSOP) or through-hole (e.g. SDIP) packages. These drivers are designed in Toshiba's leading edge BiCMOS or CMOS processes. |
