Senior Storage Analyst

JOB OVERVIEW:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Storage Technology Engineer / Analyst, you will be responsible for providing deep technical expertise on our next generation, disruptive, storage initiatives. In addition to technical experience and support, the Storage Technologist will collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to distill customer needs into use-cases and requirements, work within Toshiba to highlight solutions requirements for the storage devices such as hard disk drives, solid state drives and devices, storage platforms and emerging technologies in hardware, software, controllers and work with key technical leaders to influence and execute Toshiba?s storage initiatives.

  • Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of storage devices, components, systems and platform industry directions and trends.
  • Identify and evaluate Innovative and developing new storage and storage management technologies.
  • Think outside-the-box to incubate emergent technologies and evaluate them for commercial viability.
  • Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for storage platform opportunities, including integration into existing technology, management, and monitoring systems.
  • Evangelize and provide technical skills towards locating, evaluating and promoting ideas and opportunities for next generation storage platform technologies across our solution portfolio.
  • Work with the Engineering and Product Management organizations to establish and deliver the storage platform vision and strategy roadmaps.

    Required Experience:
     

  • BA or MA in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Engagement experience should include strategy initiatives, storage platform trends and applications, and leveraging overall technical architecture knowledge across multiple industries.
  • Multiple years of storage experience with significant depth around designing, implementing, and managing critical storage projects.
  • Extensive architectural skills dealing with infrastructure solutions such as systems management and business continuity.
  • Expert level knowledge of storage architectures, drives, NAND/SSD, operating systems.
  • Advanced experience in any one or more disciplines above is desirable.
  • Ability to engineer, architect, design or code.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with a charismatic personality.
  • Proven track record of working with and influencing disparate organizations to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to see and present "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better.
  • Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong listening and question based analysis skills.
  • Ability to uncover business challenges and develop custom solutions to solve those challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are required.
