Northwest Sales organization is responsible for providing ongoing, pre and post sales and engineering support to the account base in the Bay Area from our San Jose office location. The position reports to the director of the Western Area Sales Division.


Required Experience:

An experienced semiconductor field application engineer will able to drive pre-sales and ongoing activities by providing in-depth device, application, and system knowledge across all Toshiba semiconductor offerings.


  • Engage/interact with customer engineers of multiple disciplines as the first point of contact and through all stages of development
  • Develop understanding of Toshiba's product datasheet, specification, and roadmaps and have the ability to present to our customers
  • Work in close relationship with the internal product and engineering teams in US and in Japan
  • Assist in the sales process to capture design wins and benchmarking analysis and to develop strong relationship with partners and OEM firms
  • Connect Customer's needs and goals to Toshiba's solutions and capabilities
  • Provide product training and support for customers and sales personnel
  • Other Experience:

  • B.S. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • 10+ years' experience in embedded systems design, application engineering including creating and delivering hardware and/or software solution
  • Ability to translate Customer system architecture and platforms into Toshiba product offerings
  • Help customers to define product specification by providing device and application support
  • Ability to analyze and provide appropriate customer and application trends to the Sales and BU management for new opportunities
  • Working knowledge of board and device level hardware design and interface technologies
  • Must have excellent communication skills for both external and internal customers (Both verbal and written)
  • Must be professional, detailed oriented, self-driven, and able to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address customer needs
  • Frequent customer visits
  • Travel outside the Bay Area and to Pacific Northwest required (Up to 50%travel)

  • Knowledge of Bay Area Accounts
  • Experience in the high technology industry with specific experience in semiconductor field
  • Experience in promotion and design of high technology products
