Technical Business Development Manager-Big Data

The Technical Business Development Manager is responsible for working closely with Pivotal Sales teams on strategic Data Platform (Hadoop) or PaaS (Cloud Foundry) related opportunities. This role also serves as an important link between customers and Product Management and Engineering and will have significant input to the product roadmap and go to market strategy.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Broad knowledge of the Big Data or PaaS market specifically including the business and technical characteristics of Pivotal's competitors
  • Strong communication skills and particularly the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts in terms of business value
  • Ability to quickly understand customer challenges and collaboratively develop a conceptual solution architecture
  • Experience developing and executing a sales strategy resulting in significant revenue growth
  • EOE/AA M/F/D/V

    Required Experience:

  • Successful history in a direct software sales role
  • Previous experience in the Data and Analytics or PaaS product market
  • Strong executive presence - experience and comfort level working with C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies
  • Willingness to travel greater than 50% of the time
  • Location is flexible
