If there is one thing that TAF teachers have in common, it's creativity.

Since its inception in 1990, Toshiba America Foundation has been consistently impressed by the innovative projects that science and mathematics teachers have designed to make their classrooms more interesting and, not to be forgotten, more fun!

Some teachers have used ideas and outcomes generated by their TAF-funded projects to author comprehensive lesson plans for science and math classrooms.  We invite you to look at the links below and let them inspire you as you ponder your own project ideas.

Rural Science Education Program, a partnership between Oregon State University and rural K-12 schools

Oregon State University (OSU) has received four TAF grants since 2003.  The following lesson plans represent the culmination of efforts by Sujaya Rao and her OSU colleagues to improve science education in the region.

Soil Ecology Lab Manual

Flinn Scientific recently published a soil ecology laboratory guide written by three-time TAF grantee David Brock.  Three of his students at Roland Park Country School (Baltimore, MD) lent their expertise to the three-year project as co-authors.  For more information, visit www.flinnsci.com.

Alternative Energy Project Website

Greg Reiva, a science teacher at Streamwood High School (Streamwood, IL), has received thre TAF grants since 2003.  Check out his website for the Alternative Energy Project by clicking here.

Apples Get Wet...and Blog About It!

Deborah Stevens and her students at Musselman High School (Inwood, WV) are using TAF grant funds to study local wetlands.  They are sharing their findings on a blog, which you can visit by clicking here.
