Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Toshiba Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) offer a number of reliable Operator Interface Stations (OIS) featuring touchscreen controls. Toshiba Operator Interface Stations are intended for use with a PLC and conveniently do not require a program or a power supply.

Overview

OIS45E PLUS

The OIS45 PLUS operator interface station has a 4 1/3″ touch-screen color display. It offers the same dimensions as the OIS55 PLUS but does not have function keys or LEDs. Each OIS45 PLUS has one RS232/422/485 serial port, two USB ports (one device and one host), and one Modbus® Ethernet TCP/IP port. The OIS55 PLUS accepts three OIS PLUS clip-on I/O modules in any combination. The tag database is common for the ladder logic and the screen objects.

 

OIS70E PLUS

The OIS70 PLUS operator interface has a 7″ touch-screen color display. It offers the same dimensions as the OIS60 PLUS but does not include function keys or LEDs. Each OIS70 PLUS has two RS232/422/485 serial ports and two USB ports (one device and one host), and one Modbus® Ethernet TCP/IP port. The OIS70 PLUS accepts five OIS PLUS clip-on I/O modules in any combination. The tag database is common for the ladder logic and the screen objects.

 

OIS120A

The OIS120A operator interface station has a 12″ touch-screen color display. It does not include function keys or LEDs. Each OIS120A has two RS232/422/485 serial ports and two USB ports (one device and one host), and one Modbus® Ethernet TCP/IP port. The OIS120A does not accept any of the OIS PLUS clip-on I/O modules.

 

OIS55 PLUS

The OIS55 PLUS operator interface station has a 3.5″ touch-screen color display with six user-defined function keys and six user-defined LEDs. It offers one RS232/422/485 serial port and two USB ports (one device and one host). The OIS55 PLUS accepts three OIS PLUS clip-on I/O modules in any combination. The tag database is common for the ladder logic and the screen objects.

 

OIS60 PLUS

The OIS55 PLUS operator interface station has a 6″ touch-screen color display with six user-defined function keys and six user-defined LEDs. It offers two RS232/422/485 serial ports and two USB ports (one device and one host). The OIS60 PLUS accepts five OIS PLUS clip-on I/O modules in any combination. The tag database is common for the ladder logic and the screen objects.

 

Clip-on I/O Modules

Toshiba OIS Plus Clip-On I/O modules mount securely to the back of all the OIS Plus touchscreens. Module terminal strips and power supply connectors are removable. Each 24 VDC input module can be configured for 225 KHz high-speed input, while each 24 VDC (transistor) output module can be configured for 15 KHz PWM output. Combination input and output modules are available for both discrete and analog modules.

Insulated Bearings

  • An electric motor operating on an adjustable speed drive is at risk for premature bearing failure caused by stray currents. Experience indicates using insulated bearings on both ends of the motors is the most effective way to protect the motor from destructive currents. A high level of bearing protection is especially beneficial in applications where motor maintenance and replacement are difficult.
  • Extended Horsepower Capability

  • Extended horsepower capability allows a smaller motor to run at a higher horsepower than its baseline depending on the application requirements. This provides motor users potential cost savings while achieving the same motor performance.
  • Insulation with Wide Thermal Capability

  • Critical cooling motors utilize many Class H insulation materials in its winding designs, which provides increased thermal protection. These motors operate with a very low temperature rise at rated conditions, giving them a wide thermal margin and extended motor life.
  • Low Vibration

  • A vibration level exceeding NEMA MG1 requirements provides stability and durability by prolonging motor and bearing life and helping to reduce downtime.
