This drive is the fastest drive I have tested to date, and I have tested a lot of SSD's since 2012 including ones from intel and samsung. This SSD maxes out the available SATA III bandwidth which means you can not get anything faster. Had no problems installing OS to the drive and it runs cool to the touch. Its extremely thin, has a nice simple look, and weighs almost nothing. The only competition this drive has is the OCZ vector, which sells for $10 more. Id still choose the Q series pro though. Way to go Toshiba!

I replaced an old Maxtor 250GB Hard Drive with this SSD. My system boots very quickly now and programs load lightening quick. The Maxtor was my system drive and had Windows 7 and applications loaded on it. The clone software duplicated it fine. The only hassle was downloading the NTI Echo software but I finally got it installed. Make sure TRIM is turned on also (Google it). It is needed to keep the drive clean of unneeded data. win 7 should do it automatically, but it's a good idea to double-check.

I have three of these drives, one has been running for over a year with no problems, and the I/O per dollar is fantastic. One of the newer three drives had some errors and they returned for store credit (not the easiest waters to navigate). Support, drivers, software (none), available technical documentation (published or provided proprietary SMART values would have been nice) are all barebones but the drive itself is fast and for the money I couldn't be happier. If you need a fast SSD at a reasonable price and a 3 year warranty I would recommend this drive.

Successfully ran NTI Echo to copy all data from Windows drive using dynamic resize to allow a 1.5 TB partition containing 157 GB occupy the 256 GB SSD. Seemed to be OK on intial reboot. The final step when the OS came up was to remove the boot from the copied drive. When this occurred it requested a reboot. Haven't had it come back since. When I attempt to reinstall Windows on the SSD it doesn't recognize the drive. Haven't been able to find a driver to preload. There's a wall in every direction.
