great laptop

this is our third Toshiba laptop, the first died because of pilot error? we decided to buy another Toshiba over a competitor for two reasons, one is the parts are readily available(as our 15 month old grandson popped off 7 or 8 keys with his lightening fast speedy little fingers). we were able to buy the replacement keypad assemble and replace it. second the price is competitive with other major brands where we made our purchase. so we requested information from a friend(expert) about brands and again the recommendations included Toshiba for my needs. Toshiba has served us well, give them a try.

Windows 7 FIX

If you use this laptop and have downgraded to Windows 7, go to the driver support page for your specific model and download the OLDEST wifi driver from that page (it should be at the bottom of the list of wifi drivers for your model). Each C55D-A has different numbers after the "A" part, so google your specific model's drivers and it should pop up with Toshiba's driver page. Go to "wifi" on the left side and choose the one at the very bottom.

No Windows 7 drivers or support

Bought the laptop, descent laptop for the price, cant stand Windows 8, refuse to use it, loaded Windows 7, found out there are no drivers for wlan or lan for Windows 7, the most important drivers for the laptop, also read elsewhere Toshiba has no drivers or support for Win 7, it is a shame there is no more support from Toshiba for Win 7 and are being forced to use an operating system less popular than Win 7.
