No problems with mine

POSTED BY: Remote worker
Overall rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

At this point, I've had my C55Dt-A5307 for 6 months and haven't had any problems. It was quite a change getting used to Windows 8, but the touch screen really helps. The battery sometimes gives me up to 6 hours, depending on the type of work I am doing. I mostly use it to remote into computers at work. The keyboard flexes a little, but for the price I paid new, I this laptop performs quite well. Runs Microsoft Office 2010, Visual Studio Express, and SQL Express with no problem. Often run 2 monitors.

Fantastic Windows 7 platform laptop...

I purchased a refurbished one for my son. I made a few changes right off the bat though. First I replaced the hard drive with an HGST 1TB, (The old one was then placed in an external hard drive case, erased, then reformatted for use as a storage device only.) Had to change some BIOS settings and loaded up Windows 7 Home premium.. Finding all of the correct drivers was a trick though.. Had a problem locating the ones for the USB 3.0 and the related sm controller. Though it would be nice to have, it's not vital. Just turned off the 3.0 function in the BIOS and now have all three 2.0 ports, which all work just fine.. The touch screen is a really nice feature in conjunction with Windows 7.. In fact it works flawlessly.. :) Installed two sticks of 8GB DDR3L RAM and it really woke the machine up.. With 8, as built, it was cumbersome and slow. With 7 and some rather inexpensive upgrade features? A really good, solid and stable platform laptop.... It'll make him a very good one and was inexpensive, even with the changes.. You guys should offer this in either 7 or 8. It's a very stable unit with 7.. And it would be nice to be able to obtain the USB 3.0 and SM controller drivers for 7 on this unit as well...

so i've had this computer like less than 6 months and the battery is already CAPUTUZ dead, no charge nada. my last computer, an Acer, lasted two years before the battery life even so much as DROPPED like hot dang. And it was about the same price as this one was! also, it's slow as junk on most days, even after removing a shipload of programs. like for real so not worth your time, man.

AVOID AT ALL COST!

This is by far the WORST COMPUTER/LAPTOP I HAVE EVER OWNED. I'd have to write a book to explain all the problems, but I want to hurl it into a wall at least 7 times a day! Its so frustrating!
