This laptop is a great computer for the price. It is a great machine and runs all my business programs great! I love it for a business machine.

A good choice for its class...

Laptops, scmaptops! Oh sure...I loved the one with the Intel i7 Core...but ...there's just one small detail, it wasn't in the budget... When I saw the L455 with the Celeron processor, my thoughts were either going back to the higher models...or no laptop whatsoever... Then the sales guy showed me this one...Pentium is no Core, but it's no Celeron either, and it makes a big difference...I can live with the old Toshiba designed keyboard array, and since I use an external mouse really didn't matter...The speakers are kind of cheesy, but that's to be expected, and besides, I use headphones anyway...No built-in webcam on mine (I have an external one, anyway)...but everything costs money, right? For a budget-based laptop, the L455-S5008 comes pretty loaded, considering...The CD-ROM/CD-R/DVD-burn built in unit is more than i expected...and there's a nice, healthy 4GB of RAM...much more than the Celeron based unit could offer...Since I have an old clunker for a desktop...this puppy is much more powerful that what I had, and handles internet functions much better than I had anticipated... Since I am used to XP (and old 2K Pro), the new Win7 Home Premium is "undiscovered territory" to me, and remains to be seen, having bad experiences with the old ME...(I didn't even get into Vista...thankfully!)...So far, I like what i see... If you're a gamer, this model would NOT be a good choice (Heavily fortified desktops with high-end AMD CPUs and GeForce or Radeon graphics processors are the way to go in my opinion)...but the L455-S5800 is more than sufficient for what it was designed for...namely everyday use... You might, however...want to go to a little longer life battery if you're going to be "away from the wall" for an extended period of time, however...Otherwise, this one's a keeper!
