First Toshiba really like. Good value for the price. As a student not to heavy to take back and forth to school. Switched from a heavier computer to Toshiba glad I did.

I have always had Toshiba, and with this Satellite L675-S7040 that preference hasn't changed. The only Cons are 1: there isn't a volume wheel and pressing FN+3 or 4 isn't as convenient as the wheel; and 2: there is a dead pixel in my screen. The dead pixel has gotten less noticeable after time and massaging, etc., and it only initially bothered me and bummed me out. I never notice it now unless I recall it has been there and I have to look for it to find it again - so it doesn't stand out or distract. It's a rare occurance so it doesn't change my opinion of Toshiba laptops. A great Pro is that this laptop never gets hot. My last laptop (which was a Toshiba as well) did get scary hot. This one has some warm air but the body stays Cool. Toshiba is hopefully paying attention to heat generation on all new models of laptops, because this really makes this laptop stand out. This laptop is fast, performs very well, has a sexy design, and it doesn't seem to scratch up or anything (and I've caught my iguana walking across the top when it was closed once). This is an A+ laptop. I saw some reviews on this and similar Toshiba models prior to buying it mentioning a wireless issue. It did at first have a weak/frequently disconnecting signal when the power supply wasn't plugged in, and another review or two of others who thought to check the driver commented that the problem was solved with a quick driver update. That was also the case for me and so after updating the driver the problem was fixed. Still a great laptop.

Where I am adjusting to both a new laptop and Windows7 at the same time I don't feel I can give much of an in-depth review. I will say that what I have conquered so far has impressed me tremendously. I still have a lot to learn and understand before a fair and knowledgeable decision could be arrived at.

Good value for the money. I'm very disappointed in the Audio quality. It's "tinny" and not even worth turning on the sound. The video quality is sharp but the colors are washed out when viewing any type of video. My keyboard rattle every time I type which gets annoying and suggests poor quality. But, it's a 17" with a full size keyboard for cheap.
