TAIS may reject the return or deduct costs associated with: open packaging, missing parts, non original packaging, modification, abuse, misuse of the product or user negligence. "Very nice laptop. Windows 7 is fast and easy to adapt to for Windows XP users. The screen is bright and easy to read and the full-size keyboard makes typing smooth and effortless. I really like this laptap and I strongly recommend it to all of my colleagues. The performance of the built-in speakers is nothing like you would get from external speakers but I suppose that is true for all laptops. In general, this is a great product that I am very satisfied with."

When it works its seamless, then out of the blue it will not respond. The speakers aren't as good as previous Satellites I've owned and one of my usb ports is already getting loose."

"I needed an ultra light laptop that was small and portable, but had excellent battery life and solid performance. I tried a netbook first, and loved the battery life, but hated the performance and the trade offs (10" screen for one). This is the perfect compromise, imho. BAttery life is solid, the performance is very usable and the screen size is likewise usable. Best part is that I can keep it in my briefcase and forget it's there. Terrific value."

"This laptop has been great. I am a software developer so I use Visual Studio 8 and 10 on here with 0 issues. I am actually getting fond of Windows 7 and not missing XP at all.
The mouse pad and mouse buttons are the worst I have ever found on a laptop. But since I use this as my main computer I use a portable mouse with it anyway, I hate using any kind of touch pad on laptops.
I'm not sure what slowness the gentleman above was experiencing, I've never had an issue and that is with running Office AND Visual Studio (multiple instances). 4GB of RAM is more than anyone needs unless you are a photo/video editor, in which case, why in the world would you be using a laptop?"

A few things that bother me: Glossy finish (which is very sexy on this computer) is a major fingerprint magnet, if you ever see me with this computer you'll see me with a cloth rubbing every inch of this computer down to get rid of the fingerprints. Next is the track pad and buttons, the track pad isn't very good but its usable. Thanks Toshiba for the wonderful computer!"

"Love this laptop! It is light, extremely portable, great webcam for Skyping, etc., and does everything I need a laptop to do. It doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, but I never use that anyway (flash drives!), and the only problem I've encountered in the 3 weeks since I bought it is a flickering of the screen display when on the web. But after a quick 5-minute call to tech support and one change in the settings later, all was resolved. All in all, this is a great little machine at a great price."

PERFECT LAPTOP FOR THE COLLEGE STUDENTJanuary 01, 2010
POSTED BY: dhg253,
Manorville, NY For Model:Satellite T135-S1305 Overall rating:5.0 out of 5
"I recently purchased this laptop for my college student daughter and she loves it. It is light in weight and very thin buy yet appears to be very durable. It has all of the "bells and whistles" one could wish for except for an optical drive in which case one can easily purchase a portable optical drive. (I would recommend the Toshiba Portable Multi-Super Optical Drive.) For normal applications the battery will last for at least eight hours before it needs to be recharged. This is a real plus for college students who use their laptops during classes. My daughter found the touch pad a little awkward for her but the addition of an inexpensive usb retracrtable mouse works flawlessly. Some consumers on other sites have complained that the sound was too low but that was because they did not realize that the volume is to be adjusted by going to the Control Panel and clicking on Smart Audio/Smart Eq. to make the needed adjustments. Apparently the manual does not point this out. With features such as Windows 7; a built in web cam; full sized keyboard; plenty of memory and speed; long lasting battery; a memory card reader; and a HD 13.3 inch screen; this surely makes the Toshiba T135-S1305 the perfect laptop for any college student."

"I've been using this laptop for about a week now, and I am quite pleased with it. This is my second Toshiba, and I was pleased with my first one as well. I really like how thin and light it is due to not having an internal cdrom drive. This is the lightest laptop I've ever owned. It also feels quite sturdy when I'm carrying it around. It doesn't creak and flex like some of my past laptops. The screen is bright with no dead pixels, it's runs cool and quietly, and the battery life is fantastic. Although I hate fingerprints, I love the glossy exterior. It looks very sleek. At first, the only “con” was the lack of internal cdrom drive because most of my applications are still on cd/dvd media. Without purchasing an external cd/dvd rom drive, you'll have to get a little creative (i.e. network install, thumb drive, etc.) when installing your applications. Once you get past that, it's not really a con since I prefer it without the drive and extra weight anyway. My only other “gripes” are the keys – I wish they weren't so slick, and the audio isn't as loud as I prefer. Nonetheless, my conclusion is it's a great laptop for what it offers and it meets all of my needs."

"This Toshiba model is a great value for such a light and well designed laptop. Battery life is impressive and it is a very handsome package. I only have two quibbles: the mouse pad is hard to click: I use an external mouse and am much happier. Secondly: the gloss surface shows off all the smudges and fingerprints. Other than that, this is a fine machine in a small package with a great price."

"Overall, this laptop was worth the money for its technology. However, there are a few small things I am not too pleased with: colorful plastic covers are attractive but don't convince me like titanium; the Internal speakers could have been better, and; my biggest dissapointment - the touch pad, which may just be different for everyone. These are just the things you simply cannot test when buying online. At the same time they are also what makes a laptop a "great laptop"."

"After lengthy research and shopping around I decided to buy this model as I was looking for light, small laptop, with lng battery and possibly optical drive.. to put it in a nutshell everything you need to work/surf in internet/watch movies/talk to friends wherever you are (I travel a lot). The laptop is really light, but the nova black leaves a lot of fingerprints on the lid and elsewhere. The major deficiency for me is: webcam is REALLY low quality, so are the speakers.. you can hardly hear the skype calling with 100% of the volume (!). Also, the battey is a bit loose on my unit (but think I can exchange it so it shouldn't be a big deal). The computer doesn't run as smoothly as I would expect... For sure - battery life and its weight make it competitie among other 13.3 models, but I am still waiting for my perfect laptop to be constructed.. MANUFACTURERS - contact me if you want a mobile laptop bestseller.. it seems like you do find out what your customer needs are!"

Clunky and slow - regret the buyJuly 16, 2010
POSTED BY: Mad46,

"I simply don't get it. How can a brand new laptop with 4Gb memory be 20x slower than my old, outdated 5 year one with 512 memory? But that's the reality with Toshiba T135D-S1324. I only need the computer for net browsing and running some regular photo, and word programs. Even this is a challenge to the Toshiba and the delay of opening programs or starting the laptop is annoying.
Another minus is the unavailable option to chose which version of Windows I want to run. With this one you are stuck with 7 which is visually stunning but nothing else (I prefer XP since it has least problems and take less memory).
One can wonder what on earth the manufacturer was thinking when they added the bad clicker to the touch pad: the touch pad and clicker is awful. It's too hard, sticky and clonky and after a few hours of use your fingers hurt. It's actually 'off' so if you don't touch the clicker all the way to the left, it misses and you have to make sure to precision use the buttons. Another bad thing is the sound quality. Why on earth this company doesn't sign-up with Altec Lansing or some other excellent but low priced audio company is confusing, instead of using the poor quality features they currently have. Don't these people try their own products before they manufacture and sell them??
The plus with this laptop is the light weight. It could, however, been even lighter in my opinion since it has no DVD. The screen is really gorgeous and this is the T135's biggest plus point. The colors and images are vivid.
Other from that, nah..."
