Great Value for the $$$$

For an average user, this laptop is an excellent value. Plenty of disc space and memory. Inclusion of Office 2013 is a definite bonus. Took me a while to get used to Windows 8. Much different than what I have experienced in the past. As a previous Toshiba Satellite owner I am still very pleased with the product

Works extremely well, the picture is amazing. It's easy to navigate on. However, trying to find things in your files is a little difficult.

Good and not so

The good is the screen is much brighter than our 8 year old laptop and we are slowly getting used to the lighter weight that makes it difficult to open without 'flipping' it. O.K. now, in that regard. The bad is the keys seem to take a lot more pressure than our old Dell so have to watch carefully to make sure a word is 'complete'. The other is the design of location of the usb ports. At the front right so it interferes with the use of the mouse.(Can't stand using the touch pad as it is not user friendly when playing poker, spades and other games.) The battery seems to have a long life and that is a good thing.

Learning curves

I am surely not a techie, but I am pretty good about finding my way around computers. The new operating system has been very difficult for me to learn to navigate around. I have found it has taken me way more time to figure out how to use the new system than it would for me to work on my old laptops and I can get the work done more quickly. I imagine once I figure out the new system I might like it, but that is still a wait and see.
