Had to get used to windows 8.1, never used before. I did change back to windows 7 look. The only issue I had was where the item was purchased, the sales person was not very knowledgeable and I figured things out myself.

I'm not technically inclined, so I can appreciate a laptop that's easy to navigate. I'd recommend the Toshiba Satellite to anyone who's in the market for an inexpensive good quality laptop.

Excellent Laptop.

The laptop is excellent, especially for my age. The keys are big and the print on them are big. I think it is a great laptop.

The Satellite C55 is a great buy and well equipped laptop for home use. Easy out-of-the-box setup.

I am happy with the performance of the computer. It took a little to get use to Windows 8.1, but it's working fine.

This laptop is everything I needed for work and email. I have an older version satellite with XP still in it. It also works great but cannot support Windows 7. My only regret is that this new one has windows 8 instead of 7. 8 is a weird new ball game for me. So thumbs up for the laptop, down for windows 8. Much prefer 7.

Love my laptop!

I simply love my laptop. It is easy to use, very lightweight and travel friendly. The features offer more than expected. The battery life of this particular laptop is perfect. The performance is exceptional and the price was well worth it.

Excellent performance, but Windows 8.1 takes a while to learn.

My previous laptop was also a Toshiba, it lasted for 7 years and it was the charger connection that broke. Thus, I purchased another Toshiba. I am happy with the features as it seems hard to find laptops today with CD/DVD drives. My one complaint is that the touch pad is super sensitive and since the OS is Windows 8 if I am really busy working, I end up being constantly interrupted with the screen flipping to the apps screen or a photo screen ..... UGH and the other complaint is that the keys on the bottom row seem to need to be PUNCHED to type the character.

Really good laptop for the price. The mouse buttons are loud and seem to have to much spring but other than that everything else works great and the battery life is awesome.

This is a great laptop for the money. I purchased for at home, personal use. I enjoy the larger screen. It does everything I need it to do. At this time I am still getting used the new Windows operating system. My only complaint is that I loose wireless connection quite often for no reason.

This laptop has worked very well. Great value for the money. Only this I wish is that it had a more sensitive wifi adapter; it doesn't pick up the wifi signal as well as I would like.

Great value for the price

Very high speed performance. Only negative is that it came with Windows 8, which is a step backwards in my opinion. (That is not Toshiba's fault.) Also Windows 8 no longer comes with Solitaire. This model is definitely a great value for the price.

Good low end value

The C55-A5190 is a good value for a lower end computer. The duel core Intel Celeron N2820 Processor has a 2.16ghz-2.39ghz(factory over clock) not a true 2.4ghz as listed which is not suggested for heavy applications. It has a 1TB solid state drive, very nice size storage drive. It works well for office applications and good for internet surfing or basic multi media. The built in graphics card is a bit lacking for present day gaming programs though it is HD and comes with an HDMI slot that can be used for things like streaming video. Over all good money for the value if you are not using it for any thing too heavy.

Nice Budget Laptop

This is pretty good for what it is, a budget laptop, though the battery life is not so great. Win8, on the other hand, pretty much a joke. It wasn't as hard to find my way around as I'd feared, but it's still a cartoonish & cheesy looking disaster, even after I installed 2nd party applications (which should NOT be needed) to get a more normal desktop interface. I put in another hard drive and installed ONLY Linux. Works fine for basic web, email, and home use. (docs, spreadsheets, basic games)

The Toshiba Satellite C55 has issues with the keyboard software! It drops letters while typing or it just cant keep up! If you type real slow I guess it's ok!

Worst laptop ever!

I HATE HATE HATE WINDOWS 8.1. Am presently having Windows 7 put on my laptop; hopefully, I will like it better when Windows 8.1 is erased!
