Excellent Multimedia Experience

With the right sale, you aren't going to find a better value in the 17" monitor market segment. The CPU comes with 1 MB L2 cache in addition to a good balance with speed/battery life. The trialware is some of the least obnoxious that I have seen in a while. It's still there, and I imagine that it does take a small dent in performance, but its not bad enough to warrant me to ditch it, yet. There is an oddity with some of the Toshiba utilities and Windows Update. Some of the utilities started throwing up errors when I tried to install .NET updates. Once I got all of the .NET updates installed the errors disappeared. Battery life is decent, considering we are powering a 2.3 GHz processor and a 17.3" monitor all on AMD hardware. I absolutely love AMD for their multimedia superiority, and don't mind the hit in battery life. And most people may not notice, since I hardly think of a 17" laptop venturing too far away from its charger. Build quality is superb, and weight is evenly balanced. This laptop is surprisingly light for its mammoth size. At the same time, the materials feel top-shelf and the aesthetics are very nice. Keyboard is solid and I don't feel any weak areas when pressing keys. Compared to other brands, this laptop feels more natural to type on with your hands more to the left of the base (due to the 10-digit pad). The trackpad is very well placed and out of the way of rogue fingers and palms that might hit it. If I could find a downside to this laptop, it's with the Radeon HD 4250 GPU. I happen to be very satisfied with the GPU itself, capable of 720p HD and true 16:9 aspect ratio. To add to that, the colors are amazing. But the driver software lacks any way to update, period. It would be nice to work with Catalyst 10.10, but I fear that the only method of updating through Toshiba is out of date. But that's just me being picky.

Perfect as usual

I bought this new laptop to replace my Dell laptop which was damaged while we were on vacation. I had my dell for almost 4 years. I've had trouble with my dell when trying to use the wifi. With this 17.3 " Toshiba, I've never had trouble and I love using Skype with it. I'm still not an expert using all it's features but I'm learning. Just love this Computer. Thanks Toshiba, I should be using this for a long time.

Love it!

This is my second Toshiba Laptop. The first was an A105 that I used as an over the road truck driver that really took a beating but was still going stong when I decided to replace it. I was really impressed with how strong and durable it was, able to withstand the vibrations and occasional falling to the floor in the big rig. I don't drive the truck anymore, but I still wanted the same experience so I chose the Toshiba again. The only thing I wish I had that this one is shy on is a faster hard drive. 5400 rpm is okay, but wish I had gotten one with 7200. Other than that, the 675 works flawlessly for me with win 7, office 10, and win live mail. Never bogs done, never lags, bright screen and very functional. I have read where some folks raise issues with the keyboard and 10 key, but I find they work well for me after adjusting from the smaller a105 keyboard. Plan on getting some more Toshibas for other offices.

This laptop is bold and stylish as it preforms really well under the pressure of continuous use. I am currently using this laptop to write this and the HD graphics card makes the screen look great! Another good thing about this computer is the fast dual core processor working together with the 4GB System memory. Thanks!

I am disappointed that my computer does not come with a HDMI port. Especially, when the salesperson told me it did as well as the floor model.

very good laptop for the price

The laptop is a very good laptop for the price. I'm happy with it and would recommend it. However the only issue I have is that the touchpad is sometimes unresponsive.

Nice laptop for the price!!

Ok here goes ... This is my first laptop. I have used others in the past mostly friends HP. I found that this computer was very user friendly. The features are nice the speed for me is excellent. The only problem I have is that the speaker could be stronger. Also that when I purchased the laptop I thought it had a HDMI connection .. WRONG answer!! LOL So I am now overseas and find myself searching high and low for a usb to hdmi convert. I have had this computer for eight months and those are the only problems. I should have made sure and not assume there was an HDMI plug in!! So I say if your in the market this is a great buy. Nice screen size .. webcam is great for skype and runs smooth. That is it enjoy and thanks for making a quality product .. I am a customer for life now.

I don't like that the vga jack used to connect an external monitor to the laptop doesn,t have the ability to screw the cable plug onto it.

Poor quality & Too little built-in software

The USB ports broke down within one week of purchasing. It took more than two weeks to get it repaired. The ports do not fit with some of USB cables even after repair. I don't like the feel of touch area for the mouse. The selection of built-in software is too small. It has no capability to operate with Japanese language (cannot input in Japanese for search or E-mail). Compared to other machines I have, this machine is rated lowest in terms of machanical quality and built-in software. I am not sure how much of the blame should go to Microsoft. Window 7 is no good. I installed new MS Office 2010. This also works poorly on the Toshiba machine.
