Best laptop I have ever owned

I am very happy with this laptop. I had an Asus with all the whistles and bells but it was slow. Couldn't do two things at once. This unit would round circles around it. I really like my Toshiba and have not had any issues- windows has not hanged up, I run 3 applications at once with no slow down, it starts fast and shuts down fast. It does everything I have ask of it. tom

Great overall computer for everyday use and for gaming as well. Excellent price comparable to much more expensive gaming laptops. Very pleased!

Good, Solid Laptop

The computer has enough power and is snappy. The touchscreen is nice. The keyboard is responsive. The speakers sound very good. The construction of the laptop seems very solid and it is nice that everything is internal. I did install a 500gb ssd right away so that would account for some of the speed. The computer starts up in 5 seconds. I am mostly impressed with the construction of the laptop and the fact that it never gets very hot, even while playing demanding games. The one thing I wish was possible was that batteries were sold for this computer and upgrades were easy to find as that is the weak point in the computer. It has about a 3-4 hour charge.

Real nice laptop

I wasn't terribly excited about getting a laptop with a touchscreen, but I was shooting for a Core i7 4700MQ/HQ in a 15.6" screen size, and that limited my options. The processor is definitely a workhorse, and I'm impressed with how well the battery keeps up. The hard drive isn't enormous for today's market (750gb) but I'll never use that much regardless, and externals are getting cheaper. The graphics card (NVidia GeForce 740M) is shockingly good, and I have zero trouble playing Crysis 2 on High settings (two steps below "Ultimate"). Not top of the line, but definitely not to be shrugged at. I am somewhat disappointed by its lack of a Blu-Ray drive, but that's not a dealbreaker for me. Lack of A/C wifi and Bluetooth was a concession, however. With most good router tech going for A/C speeds these days, I was surprised to see such a quality machine with N as its main driver. Lack of bluetooth isn't the end of the world, but it does eliminate certain peripherals (such as wireless gaming mouses). Overall, a great machine, and well worth the money. The build quality is a big plus, although be warned that the higher power means you're packing a much larger in-cord power brick than what you may be used to from the Satellite line. It is akin to most HP bricks. One thing to note--if you're looking for a computer that does everything in the blink of an eye, a Core i7 alone won't do it. You'd probably need a gaming laptop or a custom-built tower, which can support better RAM speeds and a faster hard drive (this one is standard 5400rpm). Alternately, while this HD is not swappable without dismantling the entire case, you could pull out the optical drive and mount a caddy for an SSD to get better performance.
