Great Little Laptop.

Unlike the previous review, this Laptop works like a charm. Signal with WiFi is perfect. Only problem is arrow keys are to close together. Guess I just got to get use to it. So far worth every penny I spent.

Works fast and efficiently. Great laptop for the price.

great with upgrades

Pros - Very fast, very inexpensive touch screen laptop. Cons - Video resolution not up to current standards. Other Thoughts - easily replaced wireless card for about 35 to one with Bluetooth and 802.11 AC, replaced ram with 16gb for about 175. Much faster now and still much less expensive than most comparable systems.

so far, I love my new Toshiba laptop, BUT....sometimes you send down a new update that I don't really want or need. It is difficult for me to know which update I really need and which may not be the best for my computer. The dealer that sold me the laptop tells me I don't want/need some of these updates. I only want updates necessary and auto update. This is an issue for me. I am not computer savvy..

So Much Fun!

I love that it's got everything I need. It's fast, fun, and capable of handling anything I've got going on in my life around me.

Love it

windows 8.1 works a lot better with the touch screen and this one has it so its worth the extra few bucks to get. Added in the full 16gig ram so Photoshop runs nicly. This is my 4rth Toshiba and will buy from them again. Maybe next time i do a custom one to get a bit better graphics with a dedicated video card but the intel graphics are fine

Best Laptop I've Ever Used!

I was looking for a great laptop for college, not something too over the top, but something that loads and runs fast and has the features I want. I know in previous experience, family members of mine have had issues with other brands, but my uncle always recommended Toshiba and boy am I happy I looked! Not sure why they discontinued the production of this laptop, but the CORE i7 is amazing for game play and using the internet. The battery life is great (except when playing games like apps, then it runs low a bit quicker, but that's expected), the touchscreen is very smooth and easy to control and it boots up super fast! The one feature it doesn't have is a backlit keyboard, but I can make do without it. I also like that it has a security cable port for my dorm room at college. It is definitely worth the price I paid for it.

Excellant Laptop

The Notebook hardware is great, but in general the Windows 8.1 user features compared to my previous Toshiba Notebook with Windows 7 is disappointing! Implementation of Microsoft Security in Windows 8.1 is poorly designed for easy user maintenance.

A good laptop

A good laptop. One of the things I hate is Windows 8. And also the keyboard of this laptop feels cheap. Everything else is just fine. This is an expensive laptop and doesn't come with backlight keyboard.

good for the bucks

One thing I suggested is upgrade memory from 8 to 16 megs.... set the system for speed. Tweek the Virtual memory to the same size , so windows is not shrinking and growing . Copy con a config.sys files for Files and Buffer s

network problem

brand new, problem with network connection. signal is weak despite router being less than 8 feet away. signal keeps getting cut off.

Heavy

POSTED BY: zee , Houston
Overall rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

Lap top is ok, except it is very heavy. Not good for travel. Another drawback is that there is no Bluetooth.(Disappointing). Also If you want to play games its extremely slow. Like Toshiba's PR. If you dont like the laptop they are willing to take it back.

Nice except for keyboard

POSTED BY: Anni , Sarasota, FL
Overall rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

The laptop is fast, the screen is clear and responsive, but the keyboard is lousy. Many of the keys stick and do not register, even if repeatedly hit directly on top. It's essentially unusable for composing text and very frustrating. Luckily, I have a wireless keyboard at my desk, but when I have to use it as a laptop, I am not happy.
