E-20: Over torque boost
Cause:
E-20 fault typically occurs when [F402] Automatic Torque Boost is set too high for the application. This fault can also occur if the motor impedance is very low.
Clearing:
Set the following motor parameters per the motor nameplate information, then perform an autotune on the motor.
[vL: Base frequency 1] Nameplate Frequency
[vLv: Base frequency voltage] Nameplate Voltage
[F405: Motor rated capacity] Nameplate kW rating of the motor (Hp*0.745)
[F415: Motor rated current] Nameplate current rating without service factor or overload
[F417: Motor rated speed] Nameplate RPM
[F400: Offline auto-tuning] Set to 2 Auto-tuning at run command (0 after execution)
Inspect the motor and driven equipment for issues prior to clearing any faults.
Use one of the following methods to clear the fault.
• The [STOP/RESET] button on the AS3 keypad was pressed twice in quick succession
• Activate a digital input that has been programmed to “Reset” function
• Set the tyP (F007) Parameter to: 4: Clear past trips
Discussion
Torque boost can be an effective method of starting heavy or high inertia loads
• The setting value of the [F402: Automatic torque boost] is very high.
• Impedance on the motor is low.
Measures:
Set the motor parameters according to the motor characteristic, and perform autotuning.
