As a world
leader in the information technology industry, Toshiba
America Electronic Components (TAEC) is committed
to serving as a model for local companies to take
an active role in our community. Through partnership
programs, Toshiba can be counted upon
to work with corporations to accept the challenge of rounding
out the opportunities for all residents.
Whether
through Toshiba employees voluntarily pitching in or by
financial commitment, TAEC supports a variety of community-oriented
enterprises. Toshiba management encourages employee participation
in local community-oriented causes by supporting employees
who volunteer. These individuals volunteer on their own
time and choose those programs and projects that they wish
to support. TAEC strengthens these programs and projects
by contributing financial donations to these non-profit
groups with whom employees volunteer.
TAEC makes unique contributions with both funds and
people to various organizations. These contributions
enhance opportunities for local schools to expand their
interest in math, science and technology. Beyond its
participation with local programs, the Toshiba America
Foundation is another rich resource which bolsters mathematics
and science education projects in grades 7-12.
TAEC supports the Toshiba/NSTA Exploravision Awards a
science competition for grades K-12 for students of all
skill and ability levels across the US and Canada. The
purpose of this competition (the largest science competition
in the US) is to encourage students to combine their
imaginations with the tools of science and technology
to create and explore a vision of the future. |
