Toshiba Introduces New Matching Ancillary Cabinets to 4400 Series UPS Line

HOUSTON, TX — Feb. 23, 2017 — Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) has expanded the 4400 Series uninterruptible power system (UPS) product line to include a new matching slim maintenance bypass switch (MBS) cabinet and a matching auxiliary transformer with MBS and power distribution cabinet. The new cabinets are ideal for small to mid-size enterprise datacenter applications.

“The 4400 Series slim MBS & auxiliary transformer with MBS and PDU cabinets are our latest design options for UPS systems to better serve the small datacenter market.” said Greg Mack, Vice President and General Manager of the Toshiba’s Power Electronics Division.

Minimal footprint is critical for small datacenters and electrical rooms implementing UPS systems where space is measured by the square inch. UPS systems with 0” rear clearance requirements, such as the 4400 Series, can be configured to line-up and match. Line-up-and-match configurations allow for short cable runs through the matching cabinets, resulting in minimal space requirements and lower installation cost.

The cabinets utilize make-before-break MBS 65 kAIC-rated breakers with interlock keys and a “UPS in Bypass” solenoid key release so that service workers can easily de-energize the UPS for safe preventive maintenance without disrupting power to the critical load. The auxiliary transformer cabinet with MBS allows for 480 V input and 208/120V UPS applications. An optional 42-pole power distribution panel and/or sub-feed breakers can be included in this cabinet to meet the need for a UPS system distributing critical load power within a minimal space requirement.

A variety of 4400 Series UPS models are available for application-specific needs, including models with internal battery and/or internal transformers for numerous input and output voltage requirements. Remote monitoring of the 4400 Series is capable with the Toshiba RemotEye® 4 multi-protocol UPS monitoring solution. Toshiba backs the reliability of the UPS products with a 3-year onsite warranty.
