Toshiba Launches T1000 Series Uninterruptible Power System

HOUSTON, TX — September 4, 2015 — Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) today announced the latest addition to its family of on-line Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), the T1000 Series UPS. The T1000 UPS is currently available in a 6000VA/ 5400W rating and is designed to accommodate the demand for high density quality power for servers in the IT and Retail POS markets.

The T1000 Series UPS represents a 20% increase in useable output power over the previously offered product for these markets. This advancement in power factor correction design utilizes the latest IGBT power electronic devices. The T1000 Series UPS is available in a tower module and a small 3U rack-mounted version including integrated handles for easy installation.

Additional features of the T1000Series UPS include:

  • True on-line double conversion with power factor correction and voltage regulation
  • Pure sine wave output – less than 3% THD
  • Plug-and-play installation
  • Various output receptacle options available for battery and transformer modules
  • Front access USB port for setup and monitoring
  • Designed and manufactured in Houston, Texas

“Our power electronics research & development team designed the T1000 Series UPS to include a number of features important to the IT and retail markets,” said Greg Mack, Vice President and General Manager of the Toshiba’s Power Electronics Division. ”The rack-mounted unit was designed for the blade server market with a 3U height for each module, with a battery and UPS module requiring a rack height of only 6U and can be used in a 2 or 4 post rack. The T1000 Series UPS also has cold start functionality, which allows the UPS to be started using battery power in the absence of usable input power. The T1000 Series UPS includes a 3-year warranty which is 50% better than most 6000VA UPS warranties on the market place.

Tiffany Tye, Associate Director of Product Management for the TIC UPS Business Unit, added, “Consistent with the renowned efficiency of Toshiba UPS products, the T1000 Series UPS will help to guard against data loss in the event of today’s all-too-common blackouts, brownouts, and power surges, while requiring a minimal amount of power. Additionally the T1000 is compatible with the Toshiba RemotEye® UPS monitoring solution for added security. The functionality with RemotEye enables remote monitoring and simplifies the integration to building managements systems with its multi-protocol support which include Modbus TCP & RTU, BACnet IP & MSTP, HTTP/HTTPS and SNMP”
