Toshiba Industrial Products Canada Delivers Holiday Toy and Food Drive Donations

HOUSTON, TX —Jan. 16, 2017 —Toshiba Industrial Products Canada Ltd. (TIPCA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toshiba International Corporation (TIC), today announced the delivery of items collected for a joint food and toy drive. In early December TIPCA employees began soliciting and collecting qualifying items destined for the CityKidz Foundation and the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre charitable organizations in time for the holidays.

“At TIPCA we take pride in our ties to the local community of Hamilton, Ontario, and constantly seek out opportunities to give back,” said Walter Silva, TIPCA managing director. “This holiday season our employees really stepped up to brighten the holidays for families in need.”

The TIPCA social committee delivered five large boxes of food items to the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre, in addition to three large boxes of toys for the CityKidz Foundation. Neighour to Neighbour Centre is a charitable organization based in Hamilton that offers critical food access and outreach programs to families in need. The CityKidz Foundation delivers thousands of donated gifts for children in need every holiday season, reaching more than 4,200 children in Hamilton during the 2015 holiday season.

TIC and its subsidiaries emphasize the importance of corporate social responsibility through a number of programs and initiatives. TIC aims to maximize positive impact on stakeholders through development opportunities including ethics, compliance, cultural, and environmental awareness. Other TIC volunteer initiatives include ReBuilding Together Houston, the Houston Food Bank, and Trees for Houston.
