HOUSTON, TX—April 24, 2025—Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) proudly announces the launch of the RemotEye® 5 IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) network card, the latest advancement in Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) monitoring management solutions. This next-generation UPS monitoring device introduces groundbreaking features designed to enhance monitoring with predictive capabilities, further solidifying Toshiba's reputation for excellence in UPS management and monitoring.
"RemotEye® 5 transcends traditional monitoring by incorporating state-of-the-art predictive capabilities powered by machine learning, crucial for maintaining uninterrupted power systems," stated Greg Mack, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toshiba Power Electronics Division. "This new generation of RemotEye® 5 equips users with real-time, remote access to informed decision-making for their UPS installations."
Renowned for its reliable and user-friendly UPS monitoring, RemotEye® 5 offers comprehensive real-time control, predictive monitoring, and detailed analysis of UPS operations. The intuitive built-in software can automatically initiate an orderly shutdown of connected servers, minimizing data loss risk. Notably, RemotEye® 5 introduces one of the industry's first UPS load forecasting features, utilizing machine learning to support capacity planning for critical applications.
This release marks the debut of an advanced machine learning model for load forecasting within the RemotEye® 5 system. By continuously monitoring load and analyzing trends on-site, data security is maintained without leaving the network. This load forecasting capability is instrumental in optimizing load management and enabling proactive load transfer between UPSs, essential in an AI-driven landscape with its increasing power demands.
Universal communication protocols compatible with RemotEye® 5 include Modbus TCP & RTU, BACnet IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and SNMP, alongside compatibility with IPv6. Enhanced hardware features include a 1 Gbps Ethernet interface, significantly improving data deliverability and reducing latency for real-time applications.
Complementing the RemotEye® 5, Toshiba also offers an updated Environmental Monitoring Device (EMD), providing real-time temperature and humidity updates. Users can daisy-chain up to eight EMDs into one RemotEye® 5 unit, offering enhanced insights into the UPS environment.
