Toshiba Joins the Houston Texans in Donating Hundreds of Backpacks and Supplies to Local YMCA
HOUSTON, TX — August 23, 2016 — Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) joined the Houston Texans for back-to-back years of presenting the School Supply Drive benefiting the Houston Texans YMCA. TIC volunteers co-hosted a booth at Houston Texans training camp which received more than 480 backpacks and 11,000 school supplies distributed at the Houston Texans YMCA in south Houston. The school supply booth was open throughout training camp to receive monetary donations or items from the school supply wish list. Donors were eligible for prizes including an autographed jersey and Toshiba Canvio Connect II 3TB portable hard drive. Monetary donations also were accepted at the Go Texan Store located onsite at NRG Stadium.
“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the Texans to help give back locally,” said Kyle Kem, president of the TIC Social Infrastructure Systems Group. “Our volunteers were thrilled to see so many smiling faces when the backpacks were received by the kids at the YMCA.”
