Toshiba Uninterruptible Power Systems Launches Next-Generation RemotEye® 4 Monitoring Solution

HOUSTON, TX—October 14, 2014—Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) today announced the launch of RemotEye® 4, the next-generation uninterruptible power system (UPS) management solution. The newest version of the multi-protocol UPS manager includes enhanced features, further strengthening the industry-renowned network security and next-level customization ideal for datacenter applications.

“RemotEye 4 delivers the cutting-edge monitoring capabilities critical to keeping datacenter uninterruptible power systems up and running,” said Greg Mack, Vice President and General Manager of the Toshiba Power Electronics Division. “The next-generation RemotEye empowers users to monitor datacenter UPS installations remotely and in real-time.”

Recognized for reliable and accessible Toshiba UPS monitoring, RemotEye 4 offers real-time control, monitoring, and analysis of UPS operation. The quick and easy-to-use software can automatically initiate an orderly shutdown to connected servers to minimize any risk of data loss. RemotEye 4 also features a first-ever mobile website for monitoring UPS status updates on-the-go. Universal communications protocols compatible with RemotEye 4 include Modbus TCP & RTU, BACnet IP & MSTP, HTTP/HTTPS, and SNMP. Compatibility with IPv6 also is included.

For added security RemotEye 4 uses an SSHv2 secure connection to ensure data transmitted over the network is protected. A built-in firewall prevents unauthorized access to UPS units, and it also uses HTTPS to encrypt data transfers.

The custom dashboards and widgets are new to RemotEye 4, allowing users to personalize dashboards for monitoring UPS installations. The new Home Group option is available to create custom groups for monitoring multiple UPS units simultaneously. Custom reminders can be programmed for preventative UPS maintenance, such as air filter replacement. Multi-profile logins also are included in the added customization features.

Additional UPS monitoring solutions available from Toshiba UPS include the Environmental Monitoring Device (EMD) for real-time temperature and humidity updates, as well as the RemotRadar® software for monitoring up to 5,000 RemotEye cards.

With more than 25 years of experience, Toshiba UPS provides power protection solutions for applications including information technology, healthcare, industrial, broadcasting and retail. Toshiba UPS solutions offer emergency backup power to protect vital electronic resources from today’s all-toooften blackouts, brownouts and power surges.
