ONS, Open Network Service, is an open protocol for the access to process tags of TOSDIC™-CIE DS/nv system. EWS, Engineering Work Station, is an environment for the high-level applications and system interfaces which use ONS.


Toshiba industrial PC FA3100 series is recommended as the platform.

Features

Seamless connection to information systems

In order to increase the operation rate and productivity of a plant through mutual connection among information systems such as reports, production planning and process management, TOSDIC™-CIE DS/nv system provides an open environment for application development. In addition, the de facto standard OPC interface is supported to realize the seamless connection to information systems.

High-level maintenance supported by station monitoring

EWS is a station monitored by TOSDIC™-CIE DS/nv system, thus equipment troubles such as node down are detectable by OIS-DS, like the other stations. The reduction of MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) contributes to high operation rate of the whole plant.

The standard software is as follows.

ONS Support Package Visual C++ application on EWS supports to link to TOSDIC™-CIE DS/nv system.
Visual Studio® 2010 by Microsoft is usable as a latest application development environment.

Further, The following softwares can be combined into EWS as options.

Software Outline
Multicast Support Package Supports EWS with transmission and reception of data among controllers. These data are usable as control flags in controllers’ application program, and can be monitored by EWS.
DS Scan Data Support Package Supports EWS with reception of real-time trend data.
VB Interface Package Visual Basic application on EWS supports to link to TOSDIC™-CIE DS/nv system.
Visual Studio® 2010 by Microsoft is usable as a latest application development environment.
OPC DA(2.0) Support Package EWS supports a server interface conforming to OPC DA2.0.
OPC AE Support Package EWS supports a server interface conforming to OPC AE1.10.
OPC UA Support Package EWS supports a server interface conforming to OPC UA IEC 62541.
