The state-of-the-art Toshiba Diesel Hybrid Shunting Locomotive features eco-friendly technology, reduced life cycle cost, and modular design. The Toshiba hybrid locomotive system consists of a diesel engine and high-capacity battery power source. The Type HD300 employs a Series Hybrid System, in which dual sourced electric energies supply traction power to the traction motors, originating from the oil-based energy operated by the engine and battery.
