E-12: PG error

Cause:
E-12 PG error occurs when an inappropriate pulse generator (PG) encoder signal is received via
the ASD encoder feedback. Some possible items are :

1) PG signal is disconnected.
2) An error exists in the PG wiring.
3) The PG signal voltage is not correct.

Clearing:

Check the PG wiring, verify that pulse signals are connected correctly.

Verify that motor rotation is correct forward = clockwise looking at the drive end, reverse = counterclockwise.

Check if the PG settings are correct. [F376: PG phases number select], [F379: PG option voltage]

Inspect the motor and driven equipment for issues prior to clearing any faults.

Use one of the following methods to clear the fault.
• The [STOP/RESET] button on the AS3 keypad was pressed twice in quick succession
• Activate a digital input that has been programmed to “Reset” function
• Set the tyP (F007) Parameter to: 4: Clear past trips

Discussion

E-12 fault typically occurs either when the encoder parameters are set incorrectly or the encoder
is connected incorrectly. Make sure that all encoder wires are connected correctly and that the
motor rotates in the expected direction. Verify also that the encoder parameters F375-F377 are
set correctly for the encoder being used.

Please reference latest AS3 Instruction Manual more details or latest information.

AS3 fault codes, descriptions, symptoms and suggested remedies can be found in the below links. Each fault code can also be linked to directly from the AS3 by accessing the QR code on a mobile device while the AS3 is currently experiencing the fault.
