Toshiba America Nuclear Energy Corporation (TANE) is the North American representative for Toshiba's global nuclear energy business. Established in 2008, TANE operates to provide North American customers with Toshiba's nuclear expertise gained from 50+ years of engineering, construction and operation of nuclear power plants. TANE's mission is to provide advanced nuclear power plant technologies & services intended to ensure or improve safe, economical & reliable operations to these customers.TANE Focuses on Four (4) Primary Businesses:
- Engineering, procurement, construction, and licensing support for new Toshiba Advanced Boiling Water Reactors (ABWR).
- Equipment supply and construction planning in support of new Westinghouse AP1000 reactor construction, with Westinghouse.
- Operations and maintenance services & technology for existing North American Boiling Water Reactors (BWR).
- Investment and management support for the nuclear fuel cycle.
|South Texas Project Units 3 & 4|
In February 2009, TANE signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) for the delivery of two 1,400 MWe per unit ABWR nuclear power plants.
Work progresses on combined operating licensing for the South Texas Project (STP), Units 3 & 4.TANE is the supplier of steam turbine, generator and other balance of plant equipment for Westinghouse AP1000 plants under construction in Georgia and South Carolina. TANE has also coordinated the delivery of U.S. water treatment technology to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Japan.
